Media Relations
The Office of Communications and Marketing is a resource for the media.
We know what you need: timely responses, accurate information, access to faculty experts, event advisories and occasional suggestions for university-related feature stories. And, most of all, we understand the importance of deadlines.
For the sake of efficiency, accuracy and continuity, we need to be your first University contact. Calling our office from the get-go will save everyone time and ensure that you receive correct and consistent information. (337) 482-NEWS (6397).
There are a few exceptions.
- Designated experts. We maintain a list, on our website, of faculty and staff members who are considered experts on a variety of topics. You should contact those experts directly.
- University Police. The ULPD public information officer handles media inquiries and press releases for the University Police Department.
- Athletics. Media inquiries and press releases specific to Ragin’ Cajuns® NCAA-sponsored sports are handled by the sports information director.
By working together, we can have a mutually beneficial and productive relationship.
